Lo, what should I find in my mum’s mug cupboard today, but this peachy Mini 30 mug!
Now, I thought it was mine, but mum’s just corrected me. It’s hers, bought by my dad as, at the time – yes, she had the latest in her line of Minis. OGA 995 P.
I, she also adds, accounted for quite my fair share of other Mini memorabilia from the stand we visited. At, of all places, the Birmingham Superprix. (Yes, it was raining.)
How it’s survived all this time, I do not know. Mugs barely last a few months ordinarily. And I’ve just had that double-take thing, when you realise how long ago things were…
For this mug is 20 years old! 20 years! That’s a lifetime. And, probably, reason why all the Mini 30s I’m looking at are so damn expensive.
I’ve squeezed the 30 mug safely to the back of the cupboard, and am drinking from something more disposable. Sod’s Law says, oh, that the cupboard will drop off the wall, or some such. Hence the picture, for prosperity.
Hence, too, a little further inspiration for my Mini search. Pearlescent Cherry Red Mini 30… now, wouldn’t that be nice…
